Stroke and Memory Loss
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke:
"A stroke occurs when the blood supply to the brain is suddenly interrupted or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, drowning the surrounding blood cells. Brain cells die when they no longer receive oxygen."
A stroke will create several symptoms and these can include memory loss and confusion.
Other Stroke Symptoms
Symptoms of a stroke include the following sudden behaviors:
- Numbness or weakness (especially on one side)
- Confusion
- Trouble speaking or understanding speech
- Trouble seeing in one or both eyes
- Trouble walking or loss of balance
- Loss of coordination
- Severe headache with no known cause
